What do we believe
The Church of God believes and upholds the entire Bible, properly traced. The New Testament is its only rule of government and discipline. The Church of God has adopted the following Statement of Faith as the official banner of its doctrine.
We Believe:
1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2.In one God who exists eternally in three persons: namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3.That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; that He was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead; that He ascended to heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.
4.That all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded by God for all and is necessary for the forgiveness of sins.
5.That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are received through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6.In sanctification, following the new birth, by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, through the Word and by the Holy Spirit.
7.That holiness is God’s standard of life for His people.
8.In the baptism with the Holy Spirit, subsequent to the cleansing of the heart.
9.In speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit directs the individual, which is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
10.In water baptism by immersion, and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
11.That divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
12.In the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet.
13.In the second coming of Jesus before the millennium: first, to resurrect the righteous dead and catch up the living saints to Him in the air; second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.
14.In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.
